People consider "a restaurant" as meaning sitting and eating delicious food or getting food quickly when you got hungry. Another definition of restaurants means the food is served to the customer. However, restaurants have several classifications with the differences in preparation methods, menu styles, and prices. The types of restaurants include Fast Food, Fast Casual, Casual Dining, and Fine Dining. Various restaurants can influence the different experiences of consumption. Some restaurants make customers feel very impressed or romantic. Other restaurants are cheap that are qualifying for people who just look for food only, not nice or expensive dishes. Therefore, I will distinguish the types of restaurants and analyze how various restaurants operate their business.
Fast Food
Fast Food restaurants serve junk food to consumers quickly. McDonald's, In-N-Out Burger, KFC, and Jack in the Box are an example of fast-food restaurants. They are suited for people who just are getting hungry and looking for cheap food only. Every dish is more affordable rather than other regular restaurants. Mostly, American fast-food restaurants use the part of materials that comes from freeze food like freeze meats, fruits, and vegetables. They bring cheap materials and make high profit. In other Asian countries, many fast-food restaurants bring fresh meats and vegetables to cook. Asian people understand that "fast-food" restaurants consider as being "Street food." In Asian cultures, many cookers usually serve the most delicious and cheap food to make consumers feel impressed and get full unlike fast-food restaurants in the Western countries. They do not serve junk food.
Fast Casual
Fast Casual restaurants have a better ambiance and visible kitchen and stand with handmade food presented to please the customers. The quality of food and prices are higher than fast food because they serve healthier and delicious food. The food is not junk food. Every fast-casual restaurant must provide with eat-in seats and tables, but the reservation is not required. For example, consumers pay money at the counter and then get seats. When the food is ready, consumers have to pick them up themselves. In some restaurants, the staffs bring dishes to consumers' tables. Shake Shack, Panera Bread, and Five Guys are the famous fast-casual restaurants. In the current, fast-casual restaurants become popular in the U.S. and world that may make better business rather than fast food restaurants.
Casual Dining
Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Texas Roadhouse are the best known of Casual Dining restaurants. They are a relaxed place and have a nice ambiance with many seating. Many of those restaurants in the Western countries offer full table service and have a wine and beer menu. Consumers must pay a tip. Also, the price of food in Casual Dinging restaurants is higher than in Fast Casual and Fast Food restaurants because the material of food is the best quality ingredients. In other countries, many people understand "Casual Dining" restaurants as meaning "General" restaurants. They imagine those general restaurants are provided with a lot of seating and full bar service. The price of the menu in other countries are cheaper rather than in Western countries. Tipping is not required.
Fine Dining
A Fine Dining restaurant is a full-service restaurant with specific meal courses from a professional and skilled chef. Many restaurants are located in luxury hotels. In business, a fine-dining restaurant requires spending expensive expenses. A fine dining restaurant has a formal atmosphere with a special design, unique decoration, and high-quality furniture. It also traditionally featured table service at tables covered by white tablecloths. Reservation required. Every staff is rigorously trained to follow certain etiquette for taking and serving dishes. Staff members learned how to smile and communicate with consumers politely. The materials use high-quality ingredients and are carried from countries to the restaurant by expressed delivery. Consumers may feel very fascinated with tasting meals. The prices are very expensive that rich people do not mind to pay.
